Grant’s First Birthday Cake Smash and Splash

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family for their gender reveal when mama found out she was having a boy, Grant’s newborn session, and now his first birthday!  And they are always full of lots of energy and fun, and this session was no different.  We started off with some fun family photos, followed by a cake smash, and splashing both in the tub, and a spicket at the park.  And oh my gosh, how adorable is the balloon basket mom made?!!  Happy birthday Grant, and I hope to capture more of you and your family as you grow!

This session has been on my calendar for a while, and after rescheduling once due to colds, I was excited to finally meet these boys and their family.  They were very serious during our session, but especially enjoyed rolling around and playing in the leaves and dirt.  Mom and dad were cool and calm as the boys explored, and I got to capture their playing at the park.  Happy birthday boys!

Melissa, Brandon, and Solomon, because he’s ONE!

This mama has been one of my cousin’s besties for as long as I can remember, so I was naturally excited when she contacted me to schedule a family photo session for Solomon’s first birthday.  After some indecision on the location, we finally agreed on Tree Tops park because it has a nice mix of green with some water, a mix of lovely light and shade, and the wind isn’t too bad on hair.  Solomon was teething pretty badly, and somewhat cranky during our session, but you would never know it from the photos.  This couple handled parenting like a champ, not getting upset when their little one was upset, going with the flow, and comforting and loving on their son when he needed it most.  Of course they did their very best to excite some giggles too!  And when you relax and just enjoy each other at your session, you end up with great photos like these, because that relaxation lets me in a little, allowing me to capture yourselves as you truly are.  So You!

A Extended Family at Tree Tops Park

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Heather and Jon several times, and now their son Jace at our most recent holiday session, and they’re one of my favorite families to photograph.  So of course, I was excited when Heather said she wanted another family session, this time with Jon’s brothers, sister-in-law, niece, and parents.  The day that had been on my calendar for a while finally came, and we met at Tree Tops Park to enjoy the perfect skies with just enough clouds so it wasn’t too bright, and captured the love in this family.  I was especially impressed by how they planned their outfits.  Coordinated, but not too matchy matchy.  The boots for the ladies are a nice touch.  It’s also cute that the girl family wore pink and the boy family wore blue.  And how cute are those two little ones!?  They really seem to enjoy each others’ company.  They must get it from their parents, who are setting a really great example in that department!  It was great to meet the rest of the A family, and I hope we get to do it again some time!
