Alexis and Manny’s Engagement Session
This lovely couple is headed to wedded bliss this November, so we met up this weekend to capture an Engagement session. Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know your photographer, get comfortable in front of the camera, and have some great casual photos with your fiance. We started off our session in a fun urban area. It had rained earlier that day and I took full advantage of the super fun puddle reflections. We continued our session downtown after the sun set for some interesting and equally fun night portraits, and concluded with a sparkler light painting. This couple really knows how to make each other laugh. There was some gentle posing guidance from me, followed by lots of laughter, which allowed me to capture some really genuine expressions. Thanks to Alexis and Manny and Alexis’ mom for braving the heat for these great moments, and I look forward to capturing many more on your wedding day!

Joe and Maria Engagement
This couple will be celebrating their wedding in 7 weeks and 3 days, so we met this weekend to capture their Engagement session. Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know your photographer, and have plenty of time to get some great shots of the couple without the pressures of a wedding day timeline. They mentioned they are a beachy couple, and I’ve always wanted to photograph the lighthouse on Key Biscayne at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, so I suggested we meet there. They took my suggestion, and visited the park the weekend before to check it out. When we met, they were the ones showing me around! We had a great time exploring the natural beauty of the area, and got to experience one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. The sun was lighting up the clouds with a rainbow of color to the west, and to the east, the entire sky and water turned pink as far as the eye could see. It was truly awe-inspiring! My only regret is that I don’t have a superpower to slow down time so I could have taken even more beautiful photos!

Heather and Jon’s Holiday Portraits
I am made extremely aware of how quickly time passes as I’m seeing more and more clients for their holiday photos for the second time, and it’s really hard to believe that it’s been a year! I’ve been able to keep in touch with this couple on Facebook, so I already knew they are expecting their first child. It was great to be able to congratulate them in person, and to incorporate the upcoming addition to their family in some of their photos. They are so photogenic, they really make my job easy, and I absolutely love Heather’s raspberry colored shirt. I will quote Heather, who said, “I didn't want it to be holiday red overkill or too matchy matchy with Jon”. Well Heather, you succeeded, and I am absolutely in love with these pictures. I hope you will be too, and I hope I don’t have to wait another year to get you in front of my camera again!

Samuel and Dieulanie’s Engagement Session
I met this beautiful couple at their friends’ Balkis and Fritz’s Wedding, and will be photographing their wedding next month. As a videographer, Samuel knows a thing or two about cameras, lighting, and composition (and that wearing a bright color, like red, would look great and really pop in pictures). So I knew their engagement session had to be awesome. He’s recorded music videos at the Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami, and thought it would be a great place for their engagement session. It’s been on my list of places to visit due to its’ famed old-world architecture and lush greenery. The couple and the surroundings were a perfect match, and we spent the afternoon finding cool spots to capture their love for each other. I think we succeeded, and I can’t wait to capture more loving moments at their wedding!
