Lily's mom and I have a mutual best friend in common. I was Shaina's best friend from High School, and Sharon was her best friend from summer camp. So we grew up knowing about each other, all went to UF together, and have shared in the milestones of our friend as she's gotten married, and had babies of her own.
Last weekend though, it was all about Lily. Sharon and Brent welcomed this beautiful baby girl earlier this month, and I had the pleasure of capturing her newness on her 8th day, when she was being visited by both sets of grandparents!
I had studied up on my newborn poses and was all ready for a sleepy newborn shoot, when halfway through, Lily woke up! She was super alert for a while, so we were able to get a great mix of photos of her first dreams, as well as some of her first looks at her family and her home. Welcome to the world baby girl, and I'm sure I'll be seeing more of you as you grow!

Christina, Mark, and Ava: Hollywood, FL Family Photographer
I had an open session yesterday due to a cancellation, so I posted it on a mom's group I'm a member of. Christina responded, and I'm so glad she did! She told me this would be their first professional photo session as a family, which made me determined to take the kind of photos, and provide the kind of experience, that would make me their first and only family photographer!
My sessions yesterday were in Downtown Hollywood. I've done a lot of sessions at my local parks, which have been very good to me, but I was up for something new. We walked around and enjoyed the murals and urban setting, and captured a great mix of posed shots and candids of this adorable family. I can't wait till next time!

Mami, Chris, and Nicco: Hollywood, FL Family Photographer
Mami's session has been on my calendar for months! We finally met yesterday at the beach, and the first thing I asked was, why this date? She said it was going to be Nicco's birthday in a few weeks, and that they take pictures every year around this time.
After some initial confusion about where to meet, thanks to the modern technology of cel phones, we figured it out, and had a blast enjoying the scenery that Hollywood Beach has to offer, along with a beautiful sunset.
My favorite photos in this series are when we went down to the water at high tide. They were standing on some wet sand, and I captured this family's reaction when the cold waves rolled in, and their smiles after the water receded.

Delano and Tatyana: Broward County Couples' Photographer
Delano contacted me earlier this week, and said he wanted to take photos with his girl, and his truck. I was already planning some photography at the beach this afternoon, so I suggested we meet by the Dania pier.
It was a beautiful afternoon, so the area was pretty crowded. But Delano found a great parking spot backing towards the river, where we started with some photos by his Range Rover, then moved on to explore the dock, river, and beach.
There were many times where I said, "Ooooooh! It would look great if you...", and Delano and Tatyana were willing to try them all, even when it involved taking off their shoes, rolling up their pants, wading through chilly water, and sitting in wet sand to get these shots.
Thanks guys - you were awesome, and I hope to get you in front of my camera again soon!

Bodytek Fitness Midtown Grand Opening: Miami Event Photographer
Here are some photos from this past Saturday’s grand opening of Bodytek Fitness' 3rd location in Midtown Miami. This is where I choose to get my fitness on, so it was fun to be able to capture some of the action, including a visit from the mayor for the ribbon cutting. I even handed off my camera to a trusted trainer (thank you Christian Hoheb) so I could make a cameo in this album!

2013 in Review with So You by Erica Sue: South Florida Photographer
As we counted down to midnight, and reviewed the year that has past, it was only fitting that I looked back on the families and events I've had the honor of capturing throughout the year. It was a pleasure working with all of these families and their families and friends who they so openly referred. Thank you, and I look forward to meeting more of your families and friends, and seeing how much everyone has grown in 2014!
