Ilan’s First Birthday Family Portraits

What can I possibly say about this adorable family? Shaina and I have been friends since Elementary School, and best friends since High School. This little guy's bris was also one of my first photo shoots last year! But this weekend, it was all about taking portraits of Ilan with his family for his first birthday! His birthday is on lighthouse day, so we met at Hillsboro Inlet to take these pictures with the lighthouse in the background. He's such a happy guy who gave me lots of smiles. Happy birthday Ilan, and I look forward to capturing more photos of you as you grow!

Rachael and Jonathan welcome Stella!

I couldn’t go visit my new cousin and her parents without bringing my camera!  So I told Rachael this, and she and Jonathan were camera-ready for my visit this past Sunday.  In fact, I was visiting the same time as our aunt, who was so impressed with how well put-together these new parents were, just shy of a week after giving birth!  Let’s just say that I didn’t do newborn photos with my first born.  Stella is an absolute doll, both asleep and awake, in particular, when she is so alert and engaged!  Her parents are also a joy to photograph.  I love the first photo of them on the couch.  I think they look like a moviestar couple in an editorial photoshoot for a magazine!  Congratulations to this family, and I look forward to capturing more of this little one as she grows!

Carrie’s Extended Family

Carrie and I work together, and word's gotten around the office that when I'm not there, I can be found taking pictures. She scheduled this session to capture her family with her sister's family and aunt and uncle who were visiting from China, along with her parents who are local to Ft Lauderdale.  The sunshine outside was beautiful, but also very hot, so we took advantage of the natural light streaming in through the air conditioned common areas of her parents' building to capture this close family!

Rachele and Steve Engagement

This couple’s engagement session has been on my calendar, and we’ve been talking for a while, so I was looking forward to meeting them.  Rachele even referred me to a friend, whose pictures I’ve already taken, before she met me and made an appearance in front of my camera!  The sky was overcast, but that just provided a nice contrast to this couple’s sunny personalities and bright and shining love.  Their shirts and matching converse casual outfits are also super-fun.  Check ‘em out!  I’m looking forward to your fall wedding!

Lauren, Chad, Mackenzie, Linda, John, and Lindsay

This family was an absolute pleasure to photograph. First of all, they're all good looking and dressed with such great coordinated outfits, and these adults get it. They understood that they should look at the camera, so that when the baby looked at me, I'd snap a shot of everyone looking in the right direction! They will have a ton of great photos to choose from that we captured on a rare thunderstorm-cloud-free South Florida summer evening! It was a great session, and I hope I get you in front of my camera again soon!

Makenzie Newborn

I had the pleasure of shooting this couple’s baby shower and maternity photos, so when it came time to photograph their new baby, it felt like we were old friends.  We started out with some photos with mom and dad, and then got some of Makenzie by herself.  It was fun to re-use some of the props we used for the maternity shoot with the baby, like the letters and mom’s wedding tiara.  I especially loved those few moments of snuggle time to allow her to relax so we could capture these moments of her first few weeks at home.  Welcome to the world, and I hope to get to capture more photos of you as you grow!
